Make a meaningful impact on the lives of young children in your community.

This program offers opportunities for students to learn about early childhood education from birth to age eight and participate in early childhood care and classroom management. Our graduates are prepared to work in urban, diverse, and inclusive settings and serve children and their families as soon as they graduate. As a student in this program, you will receive guidance from people already working in the field and acquire the skills you need to pursue an education career.

In this program, you will:

  • Develop a deep understanding of child development theories, pedagogical approaches, and evidence-based practices that support the learning and development of young children in inclusive settings
  • Acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to create inclusive and culturally responsive learning environments, fostering the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of all children, including those with diverse abilities and backgrounds
  • Cultivate effective communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills, enabling you to engage with families, colleagues, and community partners to promote the well-being of children and advocate for equitable and inclusive early education policies and practices

Career Possibilities

Teach and nurture young children in inclusive early childhood settings such as public or private preschools, Head Start programs, or child care centers. Work collaboratively with educators and families to provide support and resources for children with diverse abilities. Or, engage in advocacy efforts to promote equitable and inclusive early education policies. These are just a few of the possibilities.
