Part of the McCormack School within UMass Boston's College of Liberal Arts, the Department of Public Policy & Public Affairs offers interdisciplinary study of a wide range of political and economic philosophies and theories, with a particular focus on effective government and issues of social equity at the local and global levels.

- Professor Mark Warrant named among the world's top-cited scholars
- Public Policy PhD student Michael Baker received the John McCormack Dean’s Public Service Award for his transit research in Puerto Rico
