Digital Accessibility – Learning Design Services training to ensure that course resources and pedagogical approaches are accessible to students with visual, hearing, and physical challenges as well as other kinds of disabilities requiring assistive technologies.

Early Career Faculty Research Seminar – Multidisciplinary cohort of faculty who meet monthly to learn how best to prepare for 4th year- and tenure review.

Endowed Early Career Faculty Award – Small ($4,000) research grant opportunity for early career faculty made possible each year by the retired faculty endowment fund.

Faculty Leadership Fellows Program – Two-semester leadership development program for tenured professors.

Mid-Career Faculty Seminar – Two-semester monthly 2-hour cohort-based seminar for a small group of Associate Professors to chart meaningful post-tenure investment of time and effort.  

NCFDD – National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity, a national faculty development organization to which the university belongs that has a repository of resources to enhance research productivity, teaching effectiveness, and help with work-life balance.

New Faculty Orientation – Two-day orientation before the start of the academic year for new tenure track faculty; covers UMass Boston’s resources and support structures for a successful career in research, teaching, and service.  

Non-Tenure Track Faculty Orientation – Curated series of videos and links to resources for new Associate Lecturers about important offices and support structures to help with teaching at UMass Boston.

Office of Research and Sponsored Programs – Grant support office to help with pre- and post-award activities related to local, national, and federal grants.

PMYR (Periodic Multi-Year Review) – Performance review (in research/scholarship/creative activity, teaching, and service) conducted every 7 years for tenured faculty members.

Sail with Canvas – Basic course offered by Learning Design Services on using the Canvas learning management system effectively.

TEACH Online — Expert pedagogical guidance for faculty from the Learning Design team to help create engaging and effective online courses that align with the university's mission and values

University Conference on Teaching, Learning, and Technology – Annual conference for UMass Boston’s faculty, staff, and students on emerging technologies as they affect teaching and the classroom experience.  

Writing Center – Office that offers academic writing support for undergraduate and graduate students and accountability-based writing workshops for faculty.
