Email for Faculty & Staff
The university maintains a variety of resources for electronic communication. All faculty and staff members are required to have a university email address and to check it regularly for university communications. Your email credentials are also used for WISER, Blackboard, and other resources.
Checking your Faculty / Staff Email
The login link for Office 365 webmail is webmail.umb.edu.

Applying for an Email Account
You do not need to apply for a UMass Boston email account. It is created automatically once you become active in our HR system. You can look up your email address to see if it has been created yet and what it is. New users should consult our first time login instructions.
For a departmental email account, you must submit an Exchange Email Account Request Form (PDF). Once you have completed it, return it to the IT Service Desk in the Healey Library on the 3rd Floor (090-03-007).

Lyris List Manager
Lyris List Manager has been retired. If you need a mass mailing solution, you may wish to investigate Office 365 Groups, which offer a distribution list with archives, a shared calendar, and shared file storage space. You may add non-UMass Boston email addresses as guests.
Email for Life Policy
- Faculty members who retire may keep their UMass Boston email accounts for life.
- Staff members who retire and wish to continue using the university email system must formally request that their email accounts be kept active. Please send an email to ITservicedesk@umb.edu indicating that you wish to continue using the university email system.
- Email accounts of faculty or staff who resign from the university or are terminated will be deleted on the last day of employment.
